Patent research and retrieval system TotalPatent has updated its platform with new functionality that gives users greater control over their data. Read on for a more detailed report.
TotalPatent Enhancements
Addition of AssigneeName segment search to the Assignees/Applicants restriction drop-down menu:
The Assignees/Applicants search field in the Advanced, Guided, Semantic and Edit Search forms will be changed to search a broader, more encompassing segment, ASSIGNEE-NAME. ASSIGNEENAME searches on original, standardized, normalized and current assignee from the biblio section. It also searches on these assignees in the post-issuance data.
Retrieve Selected option to Main and Extended Family as available for INPADOC
Users will now be able to retrieve or download selected publications within the Main and Extended families. The feature is now available to all the three patent families.
Ability to deliver the Family view as a Table /Spreadsheet
Users will be able to download Main, Extended and INPADOC family views in XLS and CSV formats. The option is available in the Create Family Report dialog box. The downloaded spreadsheet will contain all the data available in the List View of the Family Reports with the order of the columns being the same as the one available online.
Option to select/change order of columns in spreadsheet
Users now have the option of changing the order of the columns that appear in the spreadsheet download. However, this feature is not available in XML and Email Spreadsheet delivery options.
If users don’t select anything, the Field Order window will remain blank while selecting all the fields will automatically arrange the columns by alphabetical order. The custom order will remain the same for all spreadsheet downloads until it is changed by the user.
Added Show Term Hits and KWIC to Work Folders
When users search the Work Folders, they will be able to view the search terms (Show Term Hits) in list view. Users will also have the ability to turn this feature on or off. The default setting for this feature is off.
